Mathew T. Siporin
Mathew Siporin brings a strong record of success to Pullano & Karnezis. He has been responsible for settlements and awards in a variety of complex wrongful death and personal injury cases.
Mat helped secure $1 million for a Melrose Park woman who was hit by a police vehicle that was engaged in a high-speed chase. Mat deposed more than 20 police officers and defendents’ experts for the case, which resulted in a final settlement that was 150 percent higher than the offer originally proposed the defendants.
Mat was instrumental in getting a significant settlement in a case in which a grandmother was killed and her grandson significantly injured when their car was t-boned by a semi-tractor trailer in Danville, Illinois.
Mathew has worked on several high-profile cases, including the Lincoln Park porch collapse tragedy that killed 13 young professionals and injured more than 30 others. As a trial lawyer, his representation has included matters involving transportation liability, medical negligence, product liability, premises liability, construction negligence and general negligence.
Other victories include:
- $750,000 for a man hit by a bus while was crossing the street, which resulted in several orthopedic injuries and a complex traumatic brain injury.
- $375,00 for an elderly man who suffered a head injury in an auto accident with a Cook County sheriff.
- $250,000 for a man injured in a multi-car accident on the Edens Expressway during a snow storm.
- $250,000 for an elderly man who was involved in a front end collision with another vehicle.
- $245,000 each for two iron workers who suffered severe burns when an aerosol spray can exploded in their faces while they used blowtorches nearby.
Mathew is a member of the Illinois Trial Lawyer’s Association (ITLA), Illinois State Bar Association (ISBA), Chicago Bar Association and the Commercial Law League of America. Mr. Siporin is the president of the Chicago Legal Clinic’s Auxiliary Board, which aims to help raise goodwill for, awareness of, and funds to support the Chicago Legal Clinic. He regularly speaks at seminars and has published several articles on the subject of underinsured motorist claims.
Mathew received his law degree from DePaul University College of Law. While at DePaul, Mathew earned Dean’s List honors, and served as the Editor-in-Chief of the Business & Commercial Law Journal. Mathew received his undergraduate degree with honors from Tulane University where he received a Magna Cum Laude distinction. While obtaining his undergraduate degree, he was also honored by being admitted to study at the prestigious London School of Economics.
Mathew grew up in the Chicagoland area and knows the city and its suburbs well. He understands the law and relentlessly pursues justice for all of his clients.
